John Hall MBA (Executive), MIBC
Since starting John Hall Consulting in 1999, John has worked with various types and sizes of businesses and organisations, including start-ups, partnerships, co-operatives, SMEs and the corporate sector.
John brings a wealth of experience in the horticultural industry having been a Founder, Director and Non-Executive Director of a number of companies including: John Hall Nurseries Ltd, Southgate Growers Ltd, Needham Growers Ltd, Salad Link Ltd, Fargro Ltd and Farplants Ltd.
He has run several successful commercial horticultural businesses; built large green-field nurseries from scratch and put together some very effective management teams over the years and uses this knowledge and experience to guide and advise clients on challenges facing their businesses.
John also enjoys working alongside owner-managers and directors in start-up businesses, where he helps to bring structure, direction and guidance as the business begins to find its feet.
Industry Connections
A champion for the sector, John continues to work closely with research and development organisations and education and training establishments such as: the Horticultural Development Council, the Agricultural and Horticultural Development Board, Reading University, University of Chichester, University of Portsmouth, Chichester College and Sparsholt College.
Past Chairman & President of West Sussex Growers Association, John now carries out consultancy work for the Association and represents it with Local Authorities, DEFRA, National Farmers Union, West Sussex Coastal Partnership and many other organisations.
In his spare time
In his spare time, John is a published author, having written and published his first novel, Under the Yew Tree in August 2017. John bases his novels in and around the rural landscapes and agricultural communities of Sussex that he knows so well and is making progress with his second book; a sequel to his first.
